Everybody's from somewhere. A stretch of two-lane you know by feel. A lake you learned to swim in. A town whose name nobody outside the county pronounces right. Land & Light makes shirts about those places — and about the things that happen in them.
A sense of place
Our designs start with somewhere real. Regional culture, the outdoors, roadside Americana, the stuff that shows up on a good long drive. Not the postcard version — the version you'd actually recognize. A design should feel like something you'd earn by having been there, not something you'd buy at an airport.
A sense of humor
The humor isn't a departure from the brand. It is the brand. The best thing you bring back from a trip is usually the story you can't tell your mother, and a shirt is a fine place to keep it. We'd rather make you laugh in a gas station parking lot than make a statement.
What we actually make
Heavyweight garment-dyed cotton, cut true unisex, printed to be worn soft and kept a long time. No neon, no fast-fashion blanks that pill after three washes. If it doesn't get better in year two, we don't run it.
How we pick what to print
Slowly, and with opinions. We'd rather run twenty designs we'd wear than two hundred we wouldn't. Some are tied to one state and will never make sense anywhere else. That's the point.
Where we're headed
State by state. Every place we get to is a new collection, and the list keeps growing — usually because somebody wrote in and told us what their town deserves.
